Please read about the happenings of the man of God Elijah and the literal life and death dilemma that faces a widow and her son in the face of a famine that hits the land!
Please, please read 1Kings 17:8-24.

GOD ALMIGHTY tells Elijah to go to Zarephath where there a widow would give him food
Elijah goes, asks the widow for water and then her last meal meant for her and her son. Elijah tells the widow, she will have enough to eat, so long as she FIRST gives him her's and her son's last meal...
Looks impossible, but the widow obeys, and miraculously, Elijah, the widow and her son, eat well, for many days...
Then, the son becomes ill unto death...
Confused, distraught, the widow asks Elijah, why her son is dead?!
Elijah lays the son on his guest bed, lays on him 3 times, crying out to the Lord to restore life to him...
God hears Elijah's plea and restores life to the son...
Elijah gives the fully alive boy back to his mother, which cements her confidence in the truth of God!!
Just imagine if the widow had refused to give Elijah her's and her son's last meal??
