Just a quick message about forgiving. From Genesis chapter 39 through to chapter 45, please read and follow Joseph through the unbelievable journey of character building GOD ALMIGHTY took him through! The burning jealousy and resentment of Joseph's brothers, separated him from his family, cast him into slavery and then prison, all the while innocent of the accusations. GOD was with Joseph the whole time, whilst Joseph never lost faith in his Creator. Years later, when Joseph is taken out of his incarceration and elevated to second most powerful ruler in Egypt after Pharaoh, it is these same brothers, who years ago left him for dead, who come to him for food because of the famine- unaware that the man before them is Joseph, who could use his authority to deny and destroy them; exact his revenge, if you will.
But he doesn't.
Joseph FORGIVES his brothers over what happened in the past and in doing that, blesses his family!
Before Joseph reveals his true identity to his brothers, he sees their remorse for what they did to him in the past... but friends, even if the matter, whatever matter, is never resolved, if the person never shows remorse etc., STILL forgive, yes it is easier said than done, but look at what Jesus said about forgiveness in Matthew 6:14-15:
“For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
Again I stress, forgiveness is a delicate matter to deal with and there are different situations we all face, time is sometimes needed, but forgiveness pays out for good, for us in the end.
